Glenroy takes 2023 FPA Highest Achievement Award for RESCUE! fly-trap pouch

Menomonee Falls, WI-based flex-pack printer / converter Glenroy, Inc., has taken top honors in the 2023 Flexible Packaging Assn. Achievement Awards competition for its RESCUE!® Disposable Fly Trap pouch (above) for customer Sterling International, Inc.

Glenroy won this year's Highest Achievement Award for the innovative, hassle-free, flexible-packaging solution for keeping flies (and other pests) away from outdoor areas everyone wants to enjoy. It's easy to use: simply cut along the dotted line at the top of the upside-down standup pouch to expose the trap entrance, add water, and hang. The pouch construction protects the consumer from the powerful attractant inside. Once the trap is full (collecting up to 20,000 flies), the consumer simply discards it.

Glenroy also was recognized with Gold Awards for Packaging Excellence, and Technical Innovation, and a Silver Award for Expanding the Use of Flexible Packaging.

Winners of the 67th Annual Flexible Packaging Achievement Awards competition were honored during the FPA Welcome Dinner & Flexible Packaging Achievement Awards Ceremony last night at the trade group's Annual Meeting at the Ritz-Carlton Resort & Spa in Amelia Island, FL. For this year’s competition, 86 package entries were submitted with a total of 323 entries (some packages were entered into multiple categories). Thirty packages were honored with 38 Achievement Awards.

Special thanks were given to the 2023 competition judging panel of Gary Borges, associate professor, University of Wisconsin-Stout; Charles Marshall, principal, Priority Metrics Group; and Jeff Peterson, president, Peterson Media Group, and publisher of Converting Quarterly.
