Nigerian converter Tempo Paper Pulp & Packaging starts up CPP-film line

The Nigerian broad-based materials manufacturer, Tempo Paper Pulp & Packaging, Ltd., recently commissioned a proprietary, state-of-the-art, cast-polypropylene (CPP) film line and with an annual installed capacity of 11,000 tonnes. The installation of this new line has increased the company’s annual polypropylene films installed capacity from 33,000 to not less than 44,000 tonnes.

This new line has been commissioned at company’s facility at Ota, Ogun State, which already houses a BOPP-film line and a vacuum metallizer. The 3.7-meter CPP line has multilayered combinations and produces specialty films (especially barrier films) for various packaging applications. 

The demand for high-quality packaging film is constantly rising in the heart of Africa, especially in Nigeria, the most populous African country. Dr. Seun Obasanjo, CEO of the Tempo Group, says, “Since our first BOPP line started some years ago, markets have developed. Now for us it’s time for further investments."

The facility at Ota has been developed keeping future extensions in mind.
