Q: What’s happening with the AIMCAL R2R USA and SPE FlexPackCon? Will we still have the event?
A: As you’ve probably heard….We’re going VIRTUAL! Current conditions are changing the way we operate, and the show must go on! The 2020 AIMCAL R2R and SPE FlexPackCon will be hosted virtually October 19-23. The planning committee created a modified agenda and thoughtfully selected a digital event platform to accommodate our global audience while enabling the networking and knowledge sharing you expect.
Q: Why was this changed to a virtual event?
A: The health and safety of participants and volunteers is our highest priority. Due to concerns regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and evolving conditions in Florida, we are shifting to a 100% virtual event.
We recognize that the face-to-face meeting is ideal for sharing research, ideas, and networking across the industry. Given the current challenges posed by COVID-19, we feel that the virtual event format will provide the best opportunity for the global roll-to-roll converting community to “meet” and share information. By removing some of the barriers to traditional conference attendance, including travel costs and time, the virtual format will enable greater participation from the industry and research community.
Q: Why not move R2R to a different date/location to keep the face-to-face meeting?
A: AIMCAL staff and planning committees considered many options to move the conference to a different date and/or location. However, given the uncertainty of the current environment and known travel restrictions, we could not guarantee that a future face-to-face conference would take place this calendar year. Postponing the event to 2021 would interfere with many global events already rescheduled for this time frame.

Each day will start with the virtual exhibit hall and networking. Market-focused Keynotes and expert panel discussion are scheduled morning Eastern time to allow for global participation. Parallel technical tracks will follow with each session culminating with a live Q&A. Breaks and exhibitor sessions are added to encourage networking.
After the scheduled time slot, presentation material is available on-demand for viewing at any time. Never miss a topic you’re interested in, regardless of your time zone or physical location.
Q: I’ve never attended a virtual event, how do you network?
The AIMCAL team carefully selected a virtual event platform that emphasizes networking and connecting with conference attendees. Everyone registered for the event will create a profile and have the ability to directly reach any attendee, speaker, or exhibitor. The event platform has a built-in message board and ability to schedule one-on-one video chats.
Q: Does it cost the same to register for the virtual event?
We are happy to announce reduced registration fees for the AIMCAL R2R USA and SPE FlexPackCon. Q. What is the Virtual Exhibit Lead Retrieval Upgrade?
A. The Virtual Exhibitor Lead Retrieval is an upgrade option with your Virtual Exhibit. Attendees can click action buttons at the top of your Virtual Exhibit to "Meet Now" in a video call or "Request Information" that captures lead details when they click. The "Meet Now" video meeting allows up to 25 people in a video meeting. Without this option, you will only view names and company names of attendees. But, can ask for contact details when messaging attendees. This feature makes it easier to get contact details with action buttons.
